Orange County Firefighters Rush to Sullivan Inferno with Multiple People Trapped

Multiple Orange County fire departments rushed into Fallsburg in Sullivan County overnight to help at an apartment complex fire that left multiple people trapped. A medevac helicopter was placed on standby due to the amount of victims trapped in the raging inferno.

The fire was called in at approximately 3:20am. The incident reached multiple alarms, summonsing numerous fire departments from Sullivan and Ulster Counties.

From Orange County, the Circleville Fire Department from the Town of Wallkill rushed to the scene with a FAST Team, which is a specially trained team tasked with rescuing any other firefighters who might become trapped or injured inside the building.

Also from Orange County, the Silver Lake Fire Department hurried to the scene and the Port Jervis Fire Department responded into Monticello to take on other calls in the area.

In addition to the apartment complex, numerous businesses are on fire in the commercial district of Main Street in the central part of town.

As of 7:30am, firefighters are still on the scene fighting a major fire.

There is no word yet on injuries or fatalities.
