Drivers traveling along Windsor Highway in the Town of New Windsor will be treated to special artwork this summer.
Kindergarten students in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Extended School Year Program at the Vail’s Gate Elementary School are creating artwork inspired by the works of artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Both artists are known for covering outdoor spaces in fabric.
The young students are weaving colorful fabric through the chain link fence along the main road. The fence now displays brilliant colors.
According to the NECSD, the kindergartners and their art teacher Ms. Clift have made a dull space vibrant for students playing in the field and drivers passing by.
