Newburgh YouthBuild Helping Young Adults who Dropped Out of School

Newburgh YouthBuild in the City of Newburgh will be holding an in-person information session next week aimed at helping young adults who dropped out of high school.

The information session will be held at 39B Johnston Street beginning at 6:00pm on July 21, 2022. All participants must be within the age of 16-24, reside in the City of Newburgh area, and must have dropped out of high school.

Those attending will be able to get information about comprehensive job skill training, education, leadership, and community development opportunities. Participants can receive job placement support and earn a stipend as they pursue their High School Equivalency certification. The youngsters may prepare for a career in carpentry/construction trades or nursing. They will get hands-on learning experiences.

Through Newburgh YouthBuild, participants can also earn a GED at SUNY Orange.

The entire program duration is six to nine months, along with a full year of follow-ups and assistance.
