Port Authority PBA Endorses Schmitt for Congress

New York State Assemblyman and candidate for New York’s 18th Congressional District Colin Schmitt (R-New Windsor) has received the endorsement of the Port Authority Police Benevolent Association (PAPBA) in his race for New York’s 18th congressional district. The PAPBA is a union of professional Police Officers representing over 3,700 active and retired members.

The Port Authority Police Department is the 24th largest police force in the United States and is recognized both nationally and internationally for its professionalism.

Port Authority PBA President Frank Conti stated, “We recognize Assemblyman Colin Schmitt’s longstanding commitment to law enforcement and salute the work he has done throughout his career. We appreciate Colin’s diligence and loyalty while in the New York State Assembly, and we wish him the greatest success in his campaign for NY-18, as we know he has so much more to contribute to the residents of New York State.”

Assemblyman Colin J. Schmitt stated, “Members of law enforcement who put their lives on the line every single day to protect and serve our communities deserve the support and backing of their federal representatives. Having the endorsement of the Port Authority PBA is an honor and demonstrates that our campaign is focused on restoring law and order and respect for law enforcement. With my track record of supporting law enforcement and my focus on ensuring public safety is a top issue, I will always back our men and women in blue.”

The new NY-18 congressional district encompasses all of Orange County, and parts of Dutchess and Ulster counties.
