Bernadette Odol, known also as Dada, Burns, and Merlin was 76 years old. She passed away peacefully on July1, 2022 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY. She resided in New Windsor, New York.
Bernadette was born in St. Lucia on December 29, 1945 one of five children, including 3 sisters and one brother. She moved to New York in 1984 and worked at several jobs. She retired as a school crossing guard in Queens, NY. She enjoyed traveling, singing, and dancing.
Bernadette is survived by her daughter, Dionysia Rene and son-in-law, Damian Rene of New Windsor. Her granddaughters, Deidra and Dana Rene of New Windsor, Her sisters, Judy Alcee and Sabrina Odol of St. Lucia, and Rufina Allen and brother-in-law David “Eternal” Allen of Orlando, Florida. Her nieces, Desmer Ayalogu and husband, and Marisa Louisy of St. Lucia; nephew and Godson, Kyle Alcee and wife of St. Lucia and Eternal Allen of Orlando, Florida. She also has one grandnephew, Joshua Ayalogu and two grandnieces, Amelia and Azari Alcee. Also left to mourn are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in St. Lucia and abroad. She is predeceased by her mom, Marie Theresa Odol and brother, Elizear Winifred.
Her viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm followed by a service from 12:00 – 1:00 pm.
