July 4th Activities Around the Area

The Fourth of July holiday weekend is quickly approaching. Since Independence Day falls on a Monday this year, celebrations will kick off early and continue throughout the weekend.

The Newburgh News has compiled a list of events for those wishing to head out and celebrate.

Friday, July 1:

  • Town of Newburgh: The annual Community Day celebration and fireworks will be held at Algonquin Park and Cronomer Park from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The event will feature children’s activities, live music, food vendors, and displays from emergency services. See the original Newburgh News story containing full details here.

Saturday, July 2:

  • West Point: The annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks will be held at the Trophy Point Amphitheater. The West Point Band “Music Under the Stars” will begin performing at 7:30 pm. Audiences are welcome to bring picnics.

Sunday, July 3:

  • City of Newburgh: A Food Truck Festival will be held from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Broadway and Colden Street, just up from the Newburgh Waterfront. Fireworks will be shot off from 1 Water Street (People’s Waterfront Park) at approximately 9:00pm. See the original Newburgh News story containing full details here.

Monday, July 4:

  • Cornwall: The annual day-long celebration will be held from 7:00 am to 9:30 pm. Numerous events and activities are planned throughout the day. Fireworks will be shot off at approximately 9:30pm. See the original Newburgh News story containing full details here.
