Town of Newburgh Named EMS Agency of the Year

The Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical Services (TONEMS) and their leaders received numerous awards during a ceremony held by the Orange County EMS Council last night. New York State Assemblyman Karl Brabenec and Orange County Undersheriff Kenneth T. Jones were on hand for the presentation.

TONEMS received the prestigious EMS Agency of the Year award – not once, but twice. They earned the honor from the Orange County EMS Council and again from the Hudson Valley Regional EMS Council.

Individual members of TONEMS also received several awards.

Brian Pilis, the Chief of TONEMS, was awarded the Harriet C. Weber EMS Leadership Award from the Orange County EMS Council.

Michael Oates, the Assistant Chief of TONEMS, received two awards. Both the Orange County EMS Council and the Hudson Valley Regional EMS Council presented him with the Excellence in EMS Quality & Safety Award.

Jeremy Jean-Charles, a member of TONEMS, was awarded the Youth Provider of the Year from the Orange County EMS Council.

TONEMS serves and protects over 30,000 residents in a 47 square mile radius.
