American Legion Presents Award to Newburgh Town Board

The American Legion Post 1420 presented an award to the Newburgh Town Board in appreciation for the Town’s continuous support of veterans. Post 1420 Commander Duane “Mick” Mickle presented the award during last night’s Town Board meeting.

Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio, Deputy Town Supervisor and Councilman Scott Manley, Councilwoman Elizabeth “Betty” Greene, Councilman Paul Ruggiero, and TOwn Clerk Lisa Vance-Ayers were all in attendance and proudly accepted the award.

Piaquadio thanked all members of Post 1420. He stated, “I love the members of the American
Legion Post 1420 and I am happy to help in any way that I can.”

Manley added, “Please continue your great work of helping veterans.”

Greene, who is also a member of the Legion’s Ladies Auxiliary, indicated that “this is a great organization.”

Ruggiero said, “Thank you for all that you have done and all that you continue to do today.”

Lisa Vance-Ayers said, “Thank you for the freedom given to us by our Veterans.”
