Evelyn Valentin, age 74 of Newburgh, NY passed away on Thursday June 23, 2022. She was born in 1948 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Consuelo Mercado and Anselmo Valentin. She was the youngest of 8 siblings. She graduated from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, and worked as a social worker in social services of Puerto Rico.
Evelyn was very passionate about animals and was always surrounded by multiple dogs and cats. Evelyn attended church services at The Way non-denominational protestant church. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews locally and in Puerto Rico.
She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, June 28 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial following in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden, NY.
