Helen M. Moran

May 14, 1927 – June 21, 2022 (age 95)

Newburgh, NY

Helen M. Moran, age 95, died peacefully, Tuesday June 21, 2022 at home, under the care of the wonderful Hospice nurses, aides, and staff surrounded by her loving family.

Helen was born on May 14,1927 in New Jersey the daughter of Hobart and Jennie (Orlando) Crossley, and lived most of her life in Newburgh, NY. She began her career working for the Book of the Month Club in New York City then returned to Newburgh where she married Frank and raised four girls. Her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the pride of her life. She loved chatting on the phone with them as the distances grew. Her  guidance was cherished by them and helped them grow. Her home was adorned with lovely drawings and creations from those beloved cherubs. She worked in the Cafeteria at North Junior High School until 1993. In retirement  she and Frank enjoyed camping, golfing, gardening and traveling.  She loved watching sports on television. During March Madness she enjoyed watching College basketball, picking her teams and rooting for her favorite.   In the Spring you would find her following the PGA golf tournaments. She had a heartfelt passion for donating to children’s causes around the world.

She is survived by her four daughters; Patricia (Dr Sherman) Horn, Sherman and Jessica; Debbie (Ron) Perry, Darrell, Scott, and Jenna; Eileen Reale, Emily and Regina; Helen(George) Courtney, Allison;  10 great grandchildren; and the newest addition 1 great granddog Smoke.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank of 72 years.

Visitation will be held on Friday June 24, 2022 from 5-8:00PM at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave Newburgh, NY

Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, June25, 2022 at 10:00 at St Charles Borromeo, Gardiner, NY. Burial will be at St Charles Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Helen’s memory may be made to Hospice of Orange/Sullivan County or St. Jude’s.
