City of Newburgh to Hold Free Summer Fun for Children

The City of Newburgh is announcing two summertime activities – a “Jump Into June” event and “Summer Family Fun Days,” which will include a series of summer-long activities.

The Jump Into June event will be held at the Tyrone Crabb Memorial Park at 94 South Street from 11:00am to 4:00pm on June 25, 2022. It will include a free water slide, free entertainment, free giveaways, free icees, chalk, jump ropes, basketballs, soccer balls, and more. It is open to children in pre-K to age 12. Parents must accompany their children. Those attending should bring their bathing suits and towels.

Also this summer, the City of Newburgh is launching “Summer Family Fun Days.” Youth can expect to engage in fun and creative games, arts and crafts, and water play.

Beginning on June 27, 2022, and throughout the month of July until Friday, August 5, 2022, the City’s Recreation staff will offer the event to youth of all ages. Children must be accompanied by parents.

The summer-long program features a water slide at various City parks and free breakfast and lunch. Participants will be provided with recreational equipment to engage in non-organized sports activities such as soccer, kickball, and football. City staff will provide craft material for art projects that will connect participants with their artistic abilities and help them explore socially distant forms of self-expression and much more. Additional recreational activities will include water games and bouncy houses.

The designated parks for the Summer Family Fun Days are as follows:

  • Delano Hitch Park – Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Tyrone Crabb Memorial Park – Tuesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
