The Town of Newburgh Animal Control received a satisfactory rating during an inspection recently conducted by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. The inspection included the dog shelter services and the animal control officer services.
During the inspection, the State assessed Animal Control’s equipment available for proper capture and holding, as well as transportation safety, sanitary housing and equipment, veterinary care, seizure and disposition records, adoptions, identifying owners of lost dogs, ventilation, lighting, impound fees, and other indicators.
Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio thanked the Town’s Animal Control staff and Councilman Paul Ruggiero, who serves as the Liaison to Animal Control, for their hard work and successful inspection.
