Temple Hill 1st Graders “Knighted” Ambassadors of Kindness

Last week, students in Mrs. Merli’s first grade class at Temple Hill School in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District learned about the importance of being kind towards others. They were also educated about the impact kind acts have om themselves.

Mrs. Torres-Pagan, School Counselor, read a story she wrote about performing acts of kindness. She did this without wanting anything in return. During the reading, she challenged the students to perform acts of kindness towards others throughout the entire week.

The students shared stories of providing money to homeless people, helping each other in class, and helping their families.

The event culminated with each student being knighted as an “Ambassador of Kindness.” They received tiaras that Torres-Pagan handmade. The celebration concluded with a feast of snacks.
