Vails Gate Students Participate in Art Scavenger Hunt

Students at the Vails Gate Elementary School in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District recently participated in a scavenger hunt to learn about artwork.

Art teacher Ms. Clift created a fun and engaging way to teach the students how to view and connect with art. Using posters of famous works of art, Clift created the scavenger hunt. Each student was provided a list of items that could be found in each piece. The students were given an allotted time to work independently to locate each item from their list.

During the students’ searches, they became so engaged that they began to notice other details within the artwork. While not every student found every item on their list, they did discover how to appreciate the finer details within works of art.
