Those interested in becoming a City of Newburgh police officer can file soon for an upcoming civil service exam.
The test will be held on September 17, 2022. The filing period is open from July 12 through August 12. The exam fee is $50.
The starting salary of a City of Newburgh police officer is $45,846 plus benefits.
Positions are open for residents of Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, Dutchess, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties. However, preference in appointments go to City of Newburgh residents. Those interesting in applying must not have a felony conviction and must be United States residents.
