Team 6C students at the Heritage Middle School recently participated in an Estuary Stewardship Through Education Program. This project gave sixth grade students an opportunity for in-depth, hands-on learning at the Plum Point Park in New Windsor.
Students participated with experts to understand the history, importance, and current challenges that the Hudson River estuary faces.
The students took part in different activities learning about the natural resources, critical species and habitats, ongoing pollution issues, and climate change impacts. The students also cleaned up the riverbank of debris.
The field trip was organized by Lisa Sacks Holl.
