Anthony Mattaroccia, 73 of New Windsor, NY passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 at home. The son of the late Vito and Lydia (DiNardo) Mattaroccia, he was born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 19, 1948.
Anthony received his Bachelor’s degree from Bentley University and Master’s degree from Marist College. He served as Vice President of Finance at IBM for 32 years and traveled worldwide. He was the Site Leader for Newburgh and New Windsor AARP Foundation-Tax Aide, Former New Windsor Lion’s Club President, and was a youth sports coach. He was an avid Boston sports fan, Saratoga Horse Racing “The Flats” fan, loved attending family performance events, was an avid technology lover, and had a fun and sharp sense of humor, always thinking and challenging himself…keen and curious mind. He was always present and an involved husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife or 50 years, Joan Mattaroccia, whom he married at Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh; children: Marc Mattaroccia, Mary Moon, and Elizabeth Tampasis; grandchildren: Vito Moon, Dominic Moon, Dean Tampasis, and Anthony Tampasis; his sister Lita Mattaroccia; his partner Kemberly Hooper; sons-in-law Ken Moon and Fred Tampasis; and his cat, Callie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh, NY. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 2 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh, with burial following in Mt. St. Francis Cemetery, New Windsor.
