April 8, 1926 – April 18, 2022 (age 96)
New Windsor, NY
Frank Tepedino departed this world on April 18, 2022, ten days after celebrating his 96th birthday. He is survived by his daughters Paula and Geri, granddaughter Caitlin, and great grandson Caleb.
Frank was born and raised in East Flatbush Brooklyn to Filomena and Francesco Tepedino, the youngest of eight with four brothers and three sisters. Always a patriot, he followed his brothers footsteps and enlisted in the US Navy at the age of seventeen to fight for his country and was stationed on a destroyer escort in the South Pacific. After the war ended, Frank returned home to Brooklyn and married his childhood sweetheart, love of his life, Dolores Altomari who remained his wife for 62 years until she passed in 2011. Frank’s independent, entrepreneurial spirit inspired him to start his own business in Canarsie Brooklyn, Tepy’s Bar and Grill which served as a gathering place for family and friends for decades.
Frank loved deeply, lived passionately, had a keen and curious mind, a sharp sense of humor and an enormous heart often going to great lengths to make those around him happy. He was an amazing father, doting grandfather and devoted husband, a NY Giants fanatic, jazz aficionado, lover of dogs, and a fabulous cook. He touched the hearts of all those who met him and always left a lasting impression. He will truly be missed.
A service will be held in Frank’s honor at the New Windsor Woodlawn Cemetery, 93 Union Avenue, New Windsor, NY on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11am. Memorial donations suggested in lieu of flowers to the Hudson Valley SPCA and/ or the Veterans Administration at Castle Point, Wappinger Falls, NY.
