The City of Newburgh Recreation Department is inviting children ages 5-10 to attend a six-week baseball program.
The Youth Baseball program will host three baseball divisions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at the Delano-Hitch baseball fields from May 10 through June 17, 2022.
The Tee Ball Division, for children ages 5-6, will run from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Fridays.
The Minors Division, for children ages 7-8, will run from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The Majors Division, for children ages 9-10, will run from 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
For a fee of $40 ($50 for non-residents), children can learn the fundamentals of baseball with volunteer coaches on site to help and instruct them in hitting, throwing, catching, and base running.
Parents must bring their child’s birth certificate to register. Parents whose children were born in the City of Newburgh can obtain a copy of their child’s birth certificate at the City Clerk’s office at 83 Broadway.
Register in-person at the Activity Center, 401 Washington Street, Newburgh, NY 12550 or online at the Recreation Department website. Registration is open and there is a maximum enrollment capacity.
Parents can register their child the day of the event but pre-registration is encouraged.
Participants must bring their own equipment. Limited equipment will be made available for those in need.
