Town of Newburgh Appoints New Police Lieutenant

The Newburgh Town Board swore in a new police lieutenant during their regular meeting on Monday.

Town of Newburgh Police Sgt. Adam Zeilberger was sworn in as the newest lieutenant in the main meeting room filled with Town of Newburgh police officers, Zeilberger’s fiance, and his family. Town Justice Jude Martini administered the oath while Zeilberger’s fiance, Michael Jones, held the Bible.

Lt. Zeilberger is a graduate of SUNY Orange and joined the Town of Newburgh Police Department in 2006. He has been a sergeant for over four years.

Town Supervisor Gil Piaquadio and Deputy Supervisor Scott Manley congratulated Lt. Zeilberger and noted that this is a “very worthy promotion”.

Refreshments followed the ceremony.
