Orange County 911 Thanked During National Dispatchers Week

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week and the Orange County 911 dispatchers were recognized by local volunteer and paid first responders.

Town of Newburgh EMS, Town of Wallkill EMS, Port Jervis Ambulance Corp., Air Methods/LifeNet, and the Town of Goshen PBA brought sandwiches, cakes, cookies, several crates of snacks, and more to the Orange County 911 Center to show appreciation to the staff.

Every year during the second week of April, the telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored. The week-long event was founded in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office in California. It was established to celebrate and thank those who dedicate their lives to serving the public.
