The Orange County Child Abuse Unit teamed up with the New York State Police to arrest a City of Newburgh man accused of sexually assaulting a small child.
The alleged creep is Cormega Berkley, age 21, of the City of Newburgh.
The Orange County Child Protective Services and the New York State Police conducted a joint investigation into allegations that Berkley had engaged in sexual contact with a child less than 11 years-old. He was arrested on Monday, April 4, 2022.
Berkley was charged with Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child, a Class B felony. He was subsequently arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Couty before Judge Martini. He was then remanded to Orange County Jail.
