HOH Students Spotlighted in Showcase

Students from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s Horizons-on-Hudson School were showcased for their hard work yesterday. The school hosted the showcase as part of their 21st Century Program.

Students from Kindergarteners through second grade were first up during the showcase. They presented One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, and Blue Fish, with the help of teachers Stokrocki, Sickler and Jackson.

The third through fifth grade students discussed building water boats, recycling, and building cranes out of mini lego pieces. Teachers Dolfinger, Campbell and Shirley helped lead the students.

The showcase closed with a presentation from the Boys and Girls Club. Coach Emmanuel Fuller worked with both K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade groups with organizing games. They worked on skills such as basketball drills, jump rope, and kickball.

Leron Serrano from the Boys and Girls Club also worked with K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade groups. He worked with his scholars on choreographing a dance routine and the confidence needed to present it to everyone. The students also learned basic aerobics and cool-down routines.
