The Newburgh City Council will discuss several important items during tomorrow night’s regular meeting, including construction of a new sewer plant and the ongoing Lake Drive bridge outage.
The City Manager’s report is slated to include a resolution for a Council vote which would authorize the award of a bid and the execution of a contract with Metra Industries for the construction of the North Water Street Sewer Separation Project. The amount would not exceed $3,498,600.00.
The Council will also vote on a resolution to accept a proposal and enter into an agreement for professional engineering services with Arcadis of New York, Inc. for the West Trunk Sewer Inflow and Infiltrating Engineering Planning Grant Project. This would cost up to $128,000.
There are several items on the agenda regarding the Lake Drive Bridge project.
First, the Council will vote on whether or not to authorize the City Manager to accept proposals and execute a supplemental contract for additional construction inspection services with Hudson Valley Engineering Associates, PC for the bridge replacement project. This would cost $150,610.94.
Another resolution is a change order to grant a time extension to the Michels Corporation for the Lake Drive Over Quassaick Creek Bridge Replacement Project.
Two proposed change orders would reduce the Michels Corporation contract amount by $7,424.75 and $27,967.50, but four additional change orders would increase the contract by $35,161.50, $242,588.17, $339,587.56, and $75,000.
