New Windsor to Hold Free, Drive-Thru Rabies Clinic

The Town of New Windsor will hold a free, drive-thru animal rabies vaccination clinic in May.

The event will be held at the Kristi Babcock Memorial Park on Mount Airy Road on Saturday, May 14, 2022, between 10:00am and 12:00pm. Entrance signs and directional signs will be posted the day of the event.

The clinics will be open to cats, dogs and ferrets of Orange County residents. All pets must be restrained by leash or carrier. Proof of vaccination should be brought to the clinic for the 3-year shot. Without prior proof, the animal will only be eligible for the one-year shot. Ferret shots are only good for one year regardless of prior vaccinations.

Pre-registration is mandatory. Anyone wishing to register can contact the New Windsor Town Clerk’s office or submit the form via the town webpage.

In addition to the clinic, New Windsor will be accepting donations for our local pet shelters at the same time. Anyone wishing to donate is asked to bring bleach, paper towels, wet or dry dog food, or treats. Blankets and towels are not needed.

The event is being coordinated by New Windsor Town Clark Kelly Allegra, New Windsor Animal Control Officer Stacy Conley, and the Orange County Department of Health. For more information on rabies, call the Orange County Department of Health Environmental Division at (845) 291-2331.
