John F. Donnelly, 83, of the Town of Newburgh died Thursday, March 16, 2022. He was born in Beacon, NY to Francis and Zenia Donnelly, and is predeceased by his brother, Francis.
John will live on in the hearts of his wife, Sheila (Hurst) Donnelly and sons Sean (Chang) of Plano,TX and Quinn (Jennifer) of Newburgh, NY, and grandchildren, Ian, Noah, and Ella. He also lives in the hearts of extended family members: brother and sister-in-law, Randolph and Carole Hurst as well as nephews and nieces: David, Steven, Stacey, Linsey, Adam, and Evan Hurst.
John graduated from Marist College and St. John’s University and continued studies at Bard College. His teaching career in English and Reading took him from Cold Spring, NY, to Port Jervis, NY, and finally to Roy C. Ketcham Senior High School, Wappingers, NY, where he is warmly remembered by former students and friends.
A memorial celebration will be held at a future date.
