Newburgh Free Academy is known for a majority of their students succeeding after graduation. Some of the alumni went on to become well-known.
Ricky Pacione attended Meadow Hill School and South Junior High School before graduating from Newburgh Free Academy in 2007. He went on to earn a degree in Finance from Marist College. He is now a catcher for the Cleveland Indians.

Jerome Pickett attended Gidney Avenue Memorial School, New Windsor School, South Junior High School, and Newburgh Free Academy. He went on to receive degrees from Marist College and the American Military Academy. He is now the Executive Vice President and Chief Security Officer of the NBA (National Basketball Association).

Mikal Myers attended Gidney Avenue Memorial School, North Junior High School, and Newburgh Free Academy. He graduated in 2012. He then earned a degree in Communications from the University of Connecticut. He is now an Outside Linebacker Coach for the University of Maine.

Ryan Fucheck attended Fostertown Elementary School, North Junior High School, and Newburgh Free Academy. He graduated in 2007. He went on to earn a degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of Albany. He is now a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.

Joanne Matthews-Forbes attended Gidney Avenue Memorial School, Meadow Hill School, and went on to graduate from Newburgh Free Academy in 1985. She is also a proud Goldback alumni and a parent to two NFA alumni. She is now a Newburgh City Court judge.
