Wet Snowfall Blankets Our Area

A wet snowfall blanketed Orange County yesterday afternoon. Although it spared most roadways with only slushy accumulations, several inches piled up on grassy surfaces before rapidly melting amid sunny skies and 40 degree temperatures this morning.

The National Weather Service reported that the Gardnertown section of the Town of Newburgh received 4 inches of snow, while Vails Gate recorded 3.7 inches. Pine Bush and Middletown received 5 inches.

Most areas to our south, including Rockland and Westchester Counties, only received one inch or less. To our north, final snowfall reports ranged from 3 to 6 inches in various locations from Ulster County to Albany.
