NW Planning Board Discusses Old Bowling Time & Toyota Buildings

The New Windsor Planning Board met on Wednesday afternoon at the Town Hall.

Among the main interest of the meeting were two projects for vacant buildings on Route 9W. The first location discussed was the site of the old Bowling Time, located at 2922 Route 9W. A site plan and special permit has been submitted to convert the former bowling alley to a film and production center. The second location discussed was the site of the old Newburgh Toyota, located at 2934 Route 9W. A site plan and special permit has been submitted to convert the former auto showroom to a scene-build workshop. The former service garage would be utilized for storage. and utilization of the former service garage for storage.

Also during the Planning Board meeting, a public hearing was held regarding Guardian Self Storage at 149 Windsor Highway. The project proposes two additional climate controlled self-storage buildings.

Among the regular items on the agenda that were discussed was a site plan and special permit for a solar project at 354 Mount Airy Road. The project will utilize a 31.5 acre parcel to develop a community solar facility.

Also discussed by the Planning Board was a site plan for Ray’s Transportation on Walsh Avenue. The project proposes an equipment storage yard.

The Board also conducted an annual mobile home park review of Windemere Estates, and discussed an extension of the Meadowbrook Estates project.
